Saturday's HIPPO Final saw some great results from Club Athletes. The full results are yet to be published, but from what I saw I can report the following, hope it's accurate.
In the U11 boy's Hamish Kerr won Shot Putt with his 5.98m throw. Coming in late he was allowed to join the queue for just one throw and he certainly made it count, Logan Mathieson was 3rd with 5.02m. Finn Crockett, Hamish and Logan ran the 800m and 150m. Finn and Hamish did the Long Jump.
Quote from Hamish: "I came first in shot putt, and 5th in my heat for 150m. I think. In the long jump I was 3rd or 4th."
For the U13 Girls, Abbie MacGregor ran the 200m, 100m and Shot the Putt 5.95m.
Daniel Nicholson ran the 100m & 800m (2m50s) and Long Jump for the U13 Boys.
Danny Ogilvie ran the 100m in what the HIPPO stats say was a PB, ran the 75m Hurdles and threw Discus.
Loran Mathieson set PBs in the 200m and Long Jump and was 4th in the 75m Hurdles.
Stuart Micheal and Thomas Day ran the U15's 800m with Thomas storming home in first place. Stuart jumped 1.5m in the High Jump and ran the 80m Hurdles. Thomas also ran the 400m.
Connor Ross battled against a head wind in the U17 100m, in a time that must have been pretty close to his PB.
I noticed Davie Ogilvie doing some throwing, Shott, Discus and Hammer, but it was too far away for my tired eyes to see how he was doing.
However, in Davie's own words: "I threw a seasons best 31.79m in discus, a 2nd best ever throw in hammer 35.90m and an average 11.31m in the shot."
