RCAC Young Athletes, Adult Members & Parents Survey 2020

Added on 25 May 2020

Thanks to those of you who completed our recent RCAC Young Athletes, Adult Members & Parents Survey which closed on 9th May.  We really appreciated the time you took to do this.

Of the 35 that completed the survey there was a good split of juniors and adults with some parents and coaches giving their opinions too.

The results showed that 85% of respondents would like to see an additional training night.  The Endurance group were already meeting on a Thursday prior to lockdown and this information is helpful when looking at other options for those keen on track and field and potentially endurance too.

We asked for your opinions on what we do well as a club and any areas for improvement.  In relation to training most respondents who could comment rated this as EXCELLENT or GOOD in Sprints, Jumps and Throws with Endurance training gaining 90% of EXCELLENT responses.  The results did show we need to improve in some areas and there were some useful comments which will help us develop the club, its training and facilities.   For example one respondent commented that there could be improvements to our long jump runway and discus circle. We do recognise our facilities could be better and while looking into the options to improve the situation in Dingwall we will aim to make regular use of the running track in Inverness when normal training resumes.

It was really great to hear that the overwhelming majority of respondents feel we are EXCELLENT or GOOD in creating a fun environment,  encouraging participation at events and supporting volunteers.

We asked if you would like to volunteer for the club and 9 people said YES to this, with a further 18 stating MAYBE.  As a club we will always benefit from more help so it is great to see this.  We will follow up any offers when normal training resumes.

Finally we asked the best method of communicating with you.  The majority felt that using both email and Facebook was the best option as some members do not use social media.  We will therefore aim to use both methods in the future when we need to relay club information.  We will also strive to keep the website up to date.

Thanks again to those of you who completed the survey. Scottish Athletics have indicated that it is good practice for our club to gather this information plus it may help with future grant applications.

If you would like to see the full results please contact Jo.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NAMES OF RESPONDENTS ARE NOT GIVEN SO NO COMMENTS CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO ANY INDIVIDUAL.
