A Plea From The Committee

Dear Parents / Guardians,

We write this to you in advance of the AGM on Monday with an urgent plea for assistance. The club has a small band of parents who do the overwhelming bulk of the work to keep the club going. The administrative posts take up a significant amount of additional time over and above the coaching and team manager duties that they already have to do.

For example the membership secretary post will be up for grabs at the meeting and we urgently need a willing volunteer to do this. There isn't a lot of work in it by itself but when it is added to coaching activities and competing in events/age group manager duties we struggle to survive. Think of the old anecdote about the duck looking calm on the surface of the pond and paddling away furiously underneath.

Five of us have taken on the additional qualifications (the old) level 1 coach licence and the new UKA assistant coach licence to assist but we all hold committee posts and have varying levels of responsibilities there.

What we urgently need are volunteers to consider taking on single administrative/committee roles and others who wish to assist the coaches at training and on meeting days.

Please consider this and offer what assistance you can, the club really needs your help to keep this happy band of black and reds going into the future and beyond!
